A few scenes featuring nudity, mostly of topless women.
A major character, Glico, starts off as a prostitute. In one of her earlier scenes, she’s wearing a short negligee and shows a lot of her legs while lounging around.
A woman is sexually assaulted by an angry client.

A young woman is topless while getting a butterfly tattoo and her breasts are visible for the duration of the scene. She monologues about witnessing her mom having sex with a man. In the flashback, the couple is rolling around in bed and the man thrusts into the woman. Bed sheets cover their bodies so nothing besides her breasts is shown. This entire scene goes on for some time.

A sleazy club owner molests a young woman, but he’s stopped before he can go any further.
In a morgue, a nude woman’s corpse can be seen for a few seconds. Full frontal nudity with her hands partially covering the breasts and brief glimpse of her hairy pubic area.

Film review:Translated by www.rabudo-ru.com

Memory is a very mysterious thing. Its mystery lies in a dusty past, which is often awakened by a small detail and arouses a series of memories like a rope. Take a movie for example. Maybe a melody you overhear on the street many years later will evoke all your memories of a movie: picture, dialogue, plot… Of course, and the people who watch the movie.

You think you forgot, but you didn’t.

Yes, my memory of some movies has degenerated into the memory of a song. This is not to belittle the film. On the contrary, I especially like such films. At least, in any way, it moved me and left me a tail of memory that I can grasp. This is a great comfort to me who don’t believe in my memory more and more!

What awakened me this time was an old song called my way, and this film is swallowtail butterfly.

Of course, I saw this film because of Junji Iwai, because love letter is one of the few Japanese films I have seen, and it is also one of the most moving love films in my mind. But since I saw the cover of swallowtail butterfly, I knew that I would experience a film viewing experience completely different from what I expected. What I see is a completely different Junji Iwai: dim picture, marginal characters, strange plot, and intertwined English, Japanese, Mandarin, Shanghainese, Cantonese… All these happen in Yuandu, a small global village next to sex and city.

What is a phoenix tail butterfly? In the eyes of Juner Iwai, the Phoenix Tail butterfly is a mixture of all humbleness, struggle, vulnerability, fantasy, transformation and beauty. Of course, it’s not only about the little girl Fengdie, but also about everyone in the world: Gu Liguo, Feihong, Liu liangkui… (I can’t remember many names by memory alone, sigh) I don’t like the word “shock”, but I have to say that this film resonates with something in my heart. What’s that called? How does the heart feel?

My way is a key to the plot in this film, and it is also a melody that everyone who has watched the film can’t forget. Frank Sinatra’s voice has a magnetic force that people can’t refuse. What’s more, it’s more sad lyrics. It’s difficult for you to erase it from your mind.
